Macro Photography

So, class last night was so much fun. We learned all about Macro Photography. Of course, it is much easier if you have all the right lenses, etc. But, for now I am happy to work with what I've got! I set up this morning to try to recreate what we did last night. I am pretty happy with my results - I got a splash hitting a splash (the blue one)! That is pretty much the luckiest shot you can get when doing water drops. Here are a few....I will not tell any more of my shooting secrets of how I got these shots, haha. You will have to take the class yourself!!!

Assignment #1

My second photography class started two weeks ago. Our first assignment was to take two identical shots, one without flash, and one with flash. I am still learning how to use my speed flash to get the fill in light I need to bring out extra details. It was a good assignment. I found my best shots were actually without the flash, since that is what I am comfortable with.
I took the kids down to the botanical gardens to shoot. I ran into professional photographer Kenny Fey while there. He must have seen the perplexed look on my face while trying to figure out my speed flash. He came over and helped me set up a few shots of the kids and was very nice. Thanks Kenny! Here are some of the best shots.

Just a little somethin'

I made this over the weekend while waiting for it to snow. It never snowed. Ugh! I let Evelyn pick out all the colors from my yarn bin and she put them in the order she wanted. I think she did a good job! I made up this pattern and I think it turned out pretty neat. I put a picot edging on the bottom to make it more girlie. She loves it!
